Pedestrian died from injuries after SUV crash

Police released the identification of a pedestrian who was hit by a SUV earlier this month in Williamsburg and has died from his injuries.

On Oct. 18, Filiberto Coalt was crossing the street in the middle of the block near Montrose Avenue and Lorimer Street when he was hit by a 2016 GMC SUV.

When police arrived, 35-year-old Coalt was found with trauma to his body and transported to Cornell Medical Center.

Coalt died on Oct. 23, police said.

The vehicle remained on the scene and no arrests were made, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
