Snapshots from the 2018 Brooklyn Book Festival

Were you so busy tracking down your favorite writers at the Brooklyn Book Festival on Sunday that you didn’t have time to take pictures?
Fear not. We snapped some photos for you.
It was such a massive scene, with 14 stages set up indoors and outdoors in the Brooklyn Borough Hall area and Brooklyn Heights. Even if we’d hired a helicopter, we couldn’t have fit all the venues into a single image.
Instead, we stood on Court Street waaay far away from landmarked pre-Civil War Borough Hall to photograph a view of the historic government building with some of the booksellers’ tents.
All throughout Cadman Plaza, we saw people busily shopping or waiting to have books signed by authors.
In the background beyond the tents, Brooklyn’s picturesque, granite General Post Office stood there, looking kinda like a castle.
At some venues, the lines of people waiting for panels with particularly popular authors were looong. Outside St. Francis College, for instance, the queue wrapped around the block before novelists Tayari Jones and Jennifer Egan’s 4 p.m. appearance.
