New stop coming to Avenue R and Nostrand on the B44 SBS
After four years of community activism, a new stop will be added to the B44 Select Bus Service (SBS) route at Avenue R and Nostrand Avenue.
The stop is slated to be installed during the first two weeks of September, Bklyner reported. Its addition will offer commuters an easier transfer to the B2 and the B31, the buses that connect local residents to the Q train, which is the only local line in the area.
Councilmember Chaim Deutsch and Assemblywoman Helene Weinstein, who have been champions of the new stop, are glad to see it coming to fruition. Deutsch described it as the “culmination of the years of effort,” and praised MTA President Andy Byford for his ability to “put his money where his mouth is in truly listening to the feedback from the community.”
