First, there was Restaurant Week. Then there was Brooklyn Restaurant Week. Now, Dine in Park Slope, a partnership between the Park Slope Fifth Avenue BID, the North Brooklyn BID and the Park Slope Chamber of Commerce, will offer specials, prix-fixe menus and free food at more than 35 Slope eateries from Aug. 20-30. “We’re hoping to put people in the streets, get them to try adjacent shops, try a bar they’ve never seen before,” said Mark Caserta, executive director of the Park Slope Fifth Avenue BID. Unlike the citywide Restaurant Week, Dine in Park Slope allows individual restaurants to set their own deals, according to amNewYork. For example, the cheese shop Brooklyn Larder will give away free gelato with every purchase above $20. Participating businesses include Italian restaurants, Middle Eastern cafes, bars, bakeries, taco stands and much more.
