Person struck by train at 59th Street station
A person has been hit by a N train at the 59th Street station in Sunset Park at around 4:40 p.m., confirms the MTA.
Witnesses saw several fire trucks outside the station and police inside the station.
The MTA states, “Due to a passenger in need of medical assistance at the 59th Street Station, the southbound N trains are stopping along the D line from 36th Street to Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue.”
Southbound R trains are making stops along the D line from 36th Street to Ninth Avenue.
Straphangers can expect delays in D, N, and R service.
“At this time there is no R train service between 36 St (Bklyn) and 95 St. We are working to restore service as emergency personnel is on the scene,” according to the MTA’s Twitter account.
