In a number of places around the country, prosecutors and criminal defense attorneys are enemies, but in Brooklyn all the different factions of the legal community enjoy a collegial relationship that allows them to focus on justice rather than wins and losses.

The Kings County Criminal Bar Association continued an annual tradition with its summer bash that brought together judges, court officers, clerks, defense attorneys, institutional defenders, prosecutors, paralegals and more.

This year’s summer bash was held at Deity in Boerum Hill and featured a pair of bands that included court officers. Immediate past President Michael Farkas even joined Southside on stage during the event.
