Brooklyn Brand is booming – and it’s now available in stores.

The brainchild of Gravesend native and actor Will DeMeo, the clothing line – which, he says, is the epitome of “Brooklyn pride” – has caught fire since its launch in late May, continuing to pay homage to the star’s deep Brooklyn roots.

“The response has been incredible,” DeMeo told this paper. “I can’t thank everybody enough for rockin’ the Brooklyn Brand.”

The clothing line’s launch coincided with the release of a number of DeMeo’s major projects, including the June 15 release of “Gotti,” in which the Brooklyn boy stars as Sammy “the Bull” Gravano alongside John Travolta’s John Gotti, as well as his latest venture, a television series based on Brooklyn in the ’80s – aptly called “The Neighborhood” – the trailer for which dropped earlier this month.

Also coming down the pipeline is the release of his first-ever documentary, “Cruisin’ 86th Street,” which homes in on Bensonhurst’s own 86th Street, and the makeshift social club that came with it, in the ‘70s, ‘80s and early ‘90s.  That thoroughfare— dubbed by DeMeo “the hottest strip in America”— is one he, his friends and even strangers hold dear.

“For years, that was the place to be; it was an identity of Brooklyn,” explained DeMeo, the documentary’s host and co-producer.

As, he hopes, will be Brooklyn Brand, supporters of which, he said, have already donned the merch at such events as the “Gotti” premiere and Travolta’s triumphant return to Lenny’s Pizza in Bensonhurst on June 12.

“I’m seeing it everywhere,” DeMeo said. “It’s so cool.”

Among the shops now selling the apparel – whose designs feature a hearty mix of old and new-school Brooklyn – are Garage Clothing (1909 Stillwell Ave.), Central Sports (1412 Kings Highway) and Sports Fever (176 Ave. U), all local staples of DeMeo’s hometown.

“It’s great to see how much pride people from Brooklyn have,” he said, adding that what’s been perhaps most special is seeing out-of-state orders. “It’s wild. I get orders from Florida, from Texas, from all over. So many of these people have moved away, but the pride is still there. That’s how deep Brooklyn runs.”

These first three stores, DeMeo added, are only the beginning.

“We expect to be in another dozen or so stores in the next 30 days,” he said, adding also that holiday designs are in the works.

Brooklyn Brand is also available online at www.mybrooklynbrand.com.
