“I Never Promised You a Rose Garden” is the title of an old song, but the Prospect Park Alliance plans to restore the former rose garden area in the northeast section of the park. After months of community input, the Alliance released a report Wednesday detailing its plans for the area, according to amNewYork.

The park support group wants to enhance the site, add family-friendly components such as a “climbing feature” that would invite people of all ages to climb the trees, and make the area more comfortable in general. It also wants to preserve the non-urban nature of the area and incorporate more native plants, amNewYork says.
