Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams plans to name former Councilmember Sal Albanese, a veteran Bay Ridge Democrat who has run for mayor several times, to his Charter Review Commission. Albanese has been a critic of Mayor Bill de Blasio, and is “more than thrilled” that Adams supports his “democracy vouchers” initiative, according to the Daily News.

The voucher program would provide eligible city residents with four $25 vouchers they can donate to candidates they support. Adams says Albanese’s idea aligns with his own vision of having “100 percent publicly financed campaigns,” said the News. De Blasio and Adams are appointing rival Charter Review Commissions.
