After a year under president Aimee Richter, the Brooklyn Bar Association is getting set to install David M. Chidekel as its next president during a ceremony to be held at the Brooklyn federal court on Wednesday, June 20.

A former musician from the Bronx, Chidekel is a past president of the Nathan R. Sobel Inns of Court, and a regular fixture at various local bar association and courthouse events.

Chidekel said that he plans to work on increasing new membership as president of the bar with a focus on bringing in young attorneys, minorities and women. He also wants to expand the Brooklyn Bar Association’s scholarship program.
