English, Spanish and Russian are the three most common spoken languages in Brooklyn, according to the Census Bureau’s American Community Survey. English is overwhelmingly the most common spoken language in the borough except for Coney Island-Brighton Beach, where it’s Russian, and Sunset Park and Bushwick, where it’s Spanish.

As far as the second most-common spoken language in Brooklyn neighborhoods, it’s Spanish in most of the borough except for Midwood, where it’s Russian, Borough Park, where it’s Yiddish – and Sunset Park, Coney Island and Bushwick, where it’s English.

When the third most-common spoken language in Brooklyn comes into play, many other languages are listed, including Haitian Kreyol, Chinese, French, Greek and Bengali.
