Bensonhurst cops say they’ve caught the man who apparently tried to kidnap a 3-year-old boy on a busy neighborhood street on Monday.

Omar Dominguez, 26, was taken into custody late Wednesday night by police from the 62nd Precinct. Dominguez, who lives at 115 Avenue S, was charged with kidnapping, attempted kidnapping, petit larceny and endangering a child.

The arrest was hailed in the neighborhood on Thursday morning.

“Tremendous job by @NYPD62Pct working together with the community!” tweeted Councilmember Justin Brannan (D-Bay Ridge).

The neighborhood had been on alert since Monday afternoon, when a man approached a grandmother and her young charge outside of the Thanksgiving Supermarket at 2239 86th St., grabbed the stroller and fled with it.

The grandmother chased the man down packed 86th Street, caught up to him and grabbed the stroller back as the suspect fled on foot, police said. The boy was not injured.

Cops later released a video and asked residents to help catch the attempted child-nabber. The NYPD said it received numerous tips on its hotline.

“Thank you #Bensonhurst #BathBeach #Gravesend #Brooklyn. Its [sic] because of your calls to 1-800-577-TIPS that the 5/7 kidnapping suspect on 86 St is in custody,” the 62nd Precinct tweeted after the arrest on Thursday morning. “#NeighborhoodPolicing is a joint responsibility. Great Job by the 62 Pct& the 62 Detectives working together.”

Councilmember Mark Treyger (D-Gravesend) also gave the public a shout-out.

“Thank you to the captain, detectives, officers, and the entire @NYPD62Pct family for your work!” he tweeted. “And thank you to the residents that called in with helpful tips!”
