WATCH: Pair of perps wanted for attempted burglary of Bay Ridge jeweler
Cops are looking to locate and identify the duo that attempted to burgle a Bay Ridge jeweler during the early morning hours of Friday, March 30.
According to police, at around 2:25 a.m., two unidentified would-be crooks wearing hooded sweatshirts and masks exited a white four-door sedan at the entrance of Pyramids Jewelry International Inc., 7112 Fifth Avenue. One of the men then use a hand-tool to cut the security gate while, authorities said, the other climbed in, broke the glass to the storefront to gain entry and used a hammer to break a display case once inside.
The store’s 61-year-old owner who’d been sleeping in the back of the shop then woke up and confronted the perp, cops said. The male crook then fled the scene southbound on Fifth Avenue and then eastbound on 72nd Street in the white vehicle.
