Upper level of Verrazano-Narrows Bridge closed due to falling ice

UPDATE: As of 3 p.m., the upper level of the Verrazano Bridge has reopened in both directions.
The New York City Emergency Management (NYCEM) and MTA announced that the upper level of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge is closed due to falling snow and ice.
Traffic is being diverted to lower level. The NYCEM stated to expect traffic delays and consider alternate routes.
