Brooklynites and tourists alike made their way to Industry City on Saturday, January 27 to revel in the second annual Dime Best of Brooklyn Food and Beer Festival.

The foodie-friendly event – which tastefully showcased the best of the best in both food and drink – came in anticipation of the latest installment of the Dime Best of Brooklyn competition, hosted by Brooklyn Media Group, publisher of BrooklynReporter.comThe Home Reporter, Brooklyn Spectator and Spectator News and several other local outlets, and sponsored by Dime Community Bank.

In last year’s competition, now in its sixth year, over 45,000 voters crowned more than 100 winners in categories like Best Bar, Best Burger, Best Happy Hour and more, in a borough which is now known worldwide for the quality and originality of its culinary offering.

The festival gave foodies the opportunity to see some past winning vendors (and some new ones vying for the 2018 top spot) – and taste their wares – all in one awesome place.

“We are thrilled to showcase these great restaurants, chefs and breweries to a passionate audience of those that love food and drink,” noted event organizer Joshua Schneps.

“It was a blast being at the beer and food fest this weekend,” noted Morgan Luke, owner of Twisted Truffles, one of the participating eateries. “People came to eat, people came to drink, and with our cake balls they can do both! They’re the perfect size to enjoy while walking around and checking out all the vendors. We can’t wait to do it again next year!”

Other participating eateries this year included Beehive Oven Biscuit Café, Empanada Papa, Coney Shack, Dinosaur BBQ, Sweet Syrian Refuge, Mable’s Smokehouse & Banquet Hall, Brownsville Community Culinary Center, Organic Olive Oil, Trois Petits Cochons, Silver Rice, Down East Lobstah, Black Swan, The Good Spoon, Tanoreen, Oconomi, Oaxaca, Table 87, Rib In A Cup, My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream, Moe’s Salsa Dips, Vaccaro’s Bakery NYC, What’s The Dillaz, Hometown Bakeshop, La Bella Torte Truck and Tiger Box.

Among the beverage providers were Five Boroughs Brewing  Company, The Brooklyn Brewery, Braven Brewing Company, Coney Island Brewery Co., Greenpoint Beer & Ale Co., Kelso Beer Co., Kombrewcha, War Flag Brewing and Wartega Brewing.

Sponsors this year included Dime Bank, Beyond at Liberty View, Bed Bath & Beyond, Face Values, Buy Buy Baby, Cost Plus World Market, Green Mountain Energy, Lluvia H20 and Cutty Sark.
