This newspaper recently reported on a new “teaser site” for the planned 28-story building at the southern end of Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park, known as the Quay Tower. Now, a new close-up rendering has been unveiled, according to New York Yimby.

The controversial building is being developed by a joint venture involving RAL Companies, Oliver’s Realty Group and Vanke US. They plan to offer 126 residential units at the building, which would have an official address of 50 Bridge Park Drive.

Construction of the building is already underway, with an expected completion date of summer 2019. However, local groups under the leadership of the Brooklyn Heights Association have filed a lawsuit against it, claiming that the building is out of scale with the nearby low-rise neighborhood and that it is not needed as a way of financing maintenance and improvements for Brooklyn Bridge Park.

Prices are expected to range from around $1.9 million for the smallest two-bedroom units to $5.5 million for five-bedroom residences.
