Brrrr! 17 degrees on NYC’s windiest corner

TD Bank’s temperature display proclaimed it was 17 degrees at the corner of Montague and Courts Streets in Brooklyn Heights on Thursday.
The subfreezing weather felt even worse on this corner because it is known as the windiest intersection in all of New York City. At this intersection, the wind forms a monster “vortex,” according to a 2013 story in the New York Times.
So if it felt like you were standing at the coldest place in the city yesterday … you probably were.
