69-year-old driver arrested after striking pedestrian in Bay Ridge

A 69-year-old man was arrested for striking a 30-year-old female pedestrian in Bay Ridge on Tuesday, December 5.
Police say that at around 7:50 a.m. the driver, Jin Lau, made a right turn from 86th Street onto Dahlgren Place and hit the woman.
Witnesses described the vehicle as a white van and said that the victim was dragged for a few feet before the driver noticed he had hit her. They also report hearing loud screams following the accident.
The victim was removed to an area hospital. Authorities say her condition is unknown.
Lau was charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian and failure to exercise due care.
