Narrows Community Theater (NCT) has a special present for Brooklyn theater lovers this holiday season. The Bay Ridge-based theater company is presenting “A Wonderful Life” for those who need a reminder of the joy of Christmas.

“A Wonderful Life” is a musical version of “It’s A Wonderful Life,” the classic 1946 Frank Capra movie starring Jimmy Stewart as George Bailey, who learns with the help of Clarence, an angel looking to get his wings, what life would have been like in his hometown of Bedford Falls if he had never been born. George learns that every human being is important.

“A Wonderful Life” was written by Tony-Award winner Sheldon Harnick and Grammy- and Emmy- Award winner Joe Raposo.

The NCT production opens on Friday, Dec. 1, at the theater on the U.S. Army Garrison at Fort Hamilton in Bay Ridge. Visitors should enter the fort at the main gate at Fort Hamilton Parkway and 101st Street. Photo identification is required to gain access to the fort.

The performance schedule is as follows: Friday, Dec. 1 at 8 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 2 at 8 p.m.; Sunday, Dec. 3 at 2 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 10 at 2p.m.

NCT will be collecting new unwrapped toys in the lobby of the theater to be donated to Operation Sandy Claus and Toys for Tots.

“George Bailey” will be played by Dalles Wilie.  Sarah Cappiello co-stars as Mary Hatch Bailey.  James Martinelli plays Clarence and Bennett Silverstein portrays Mr. Potter.

Leah Zepel, the director/choreographer of the NCT show, said the musical has an important, heartwarming message to convey.

Come see ‘A Wonderful Life (The Musical),’ the vibrant retelling of the iconic movie by the Tony-Award and Pulitzer-Prize winner Sheldon Harnick and Grammy and Emmy winner Joe Raposo. Travel with George Bailey as he experiences life’s ups and downs and discovers the true meaning of love and the things that make life worth living. Starring Dalles Wilie as George Bailey, Sarah Cappiello as Mary Hatch Bailey, James Martinelli as Clarence and Bennett Silverstein as Mr. Potter, ‘A Wonderful Life, The Musical’ is the perfect reminder that the love of family, the strength of community, and maybe a little nudge from an angel-in-training are we really need!” Zepel said in a statement.
