BANGLADESH — Boat Capsizes: Noor Mehar, a Rohingya Muslim woman who crossed over from Myanmar into Bangladesh with her daughter Rasheeda, grieves for her three daughters after their boat capsized near Shah Porir Dwip on Monday. An overcrowded boat carrying Rohingya Muslims fleeing Myanmar capsized in the Bay of Bengal near a Bangladeshi fishing village. The wreck killed 12 people, including six children, police said.

SPAIN — Wildfires Claim Lives: Residents hold their pets as a wildfire moves forward their houses in Pontevedra on Monday. Authorities in Portugal and Spain say that nine people died over the weekend in hundreds of wildfires fanned by strong winds caused by a hurricane. Three people, two of whom were trapped in a car, were killed as a result of more than 130 blazes reported in different areas, officials said.
