A 61-year-old man jumped to his death from the Manhattan Bridge on Saturday, according to NYPD.

The victim leapt from the Brooklyn side of the overpass and landed near Adams and Front streets in DUMBO around 7:15 p.m.

“I always leave my windows open, and I walked into my kitchen and you just hear this thump,” Andy DeMaio told the Daily News. “It was really loud.”

One bystander told the News that someone placed a piece of cardboard over the man’s body.

At press time, the victim’s identity had not been released.

Several other similar incidents have occurred in Brooklyn this summer.

On Aug. 17, police officers saved a man who was considering jumping from the Manhattan Bridge.

On Aug. 2, after a five-hour standoff, police officers were also able to talk a potential jumper away from the edge of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge.

On June 29, the body of a man who jumped off the Brooklyn Bridge was found floating in the Bay Ridge Channel hours later.
