On Thursday, New York Mets General Manager Sandy Alderson announced that pitcher Matt Harvey will begin his Major League Rehabilitation Assignment on Saturday with the Brooklyn Cyclones when they take on the Hudson Valley Renegades at Dutchess Stadium. Game time is 7:05 PM.

Harvey was placed on the 10-Day Disabled List, retroactive to June 15th, with a stress injury to the scapula bone in his right shoulder. The righthander was 4-3 with a 5.25 ERA in 13 starts this season prior to his injury.

The 28-year-old righthander was selected in the first round of the 2010 MLB Draft out of North Carolina and began his Minor League Career with St. Lucie (A) of the Florida State League. Harvey will be the 21st major leaguer to rehab with the Cyclones and the first since Jose Reyes played with the Cyclones in 2016.
