Show to go on for Wingate and Coney Island concert series
Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams announced earlier this month that, despite previous reports that the summer concert series in Wingate Park in East Flatbush and at the Ford Amphitheater in Coney Island would be canned for the season, the shows will instead go on, a little later than expected.
The free Wingate Concert Series began on Monday, August 7 with the Coney Island Concert Series scheduled to debut in early September.
“In response to the significant interest we all share in maintaining and expanding the range of free summer entertainment opportunities in our borough, I have been working aggressively to identify and secure new organizers that can deliver great performances at Ford Amphitheater and Wingate Park this season, as well as do even better in the years ahead,” said Adams, thanking organizers Globe Star Media-N-Entertainment and City Park Foundation, respectively, for their hard work on expedited timelines to ensure the continuation of both series.
