Hundreds of residents and tourists on the eastern Greek island of Kos spent the night sleeping outdoors, on beach lounge-chairs, in parks and olive groves or in their cars, a night after a powerful earthquake killed two tourists and injured nearly 500 others across the Aegean Sea region, in Greece and Turkey.

OHIO – Protesters Call for Retirement: Protestors chant as they march during a demonstration demanding former University of Cincinnati police officer Ray Tensing be retried for murder in the shooting death of motorist Sam DuBose, Saturday in downtown Cincinnati. Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph Deters declined a third trial during a news conference Tuesday after two juries deadlocked on murder and voluntary manslaughter charges, claiming he does not believe the case can succeed.

MAINE – Jam Session: A camper from Israel, left, and the United Kingdom discuss music at the Seeds of Peace camp, Thursday, in Otisfield, Maine. For 25 years, Israeli and Palestinian teens have been coming to the woods of Maine, along with campers from other countries at conflict, to try to work toward peace. They’re no closer to resolving the conflict but there’s still hope, the latest group says.
