Brooklyn Book Fair a big hit at P.S. 24
Children in Sunset Park were introduced to the wonderful world of books, thanks to the Brooklyn Book Festival, which hosted a celebration of literature at P.S. 24 complete with readings, play acting, lessons in how to create a comic book and other fun-filled activities.
Sponsored by Councilmember Carlos Menchaca (D-Sunset Park-Red Hook), the festival, called a Community Book Fair, also gave kids a chance to take part in yoga classes and learn how to make origami figures.
The all-day event, which had plenty of activities for adults as well as kids, took place inside the P.S. 24 building at 427 38th St.
