Resolution Postponed: Love-Spat Keeps Community Board Head in Abeyance Until August
In a back and forth of who’s stalking whom, Community Board 6 District Manager Craig Hammerman continued to deny charges on Friday of stalking and harassment of his ex-girlfriend, who is allegedly now stalking him, according to his lawyer Joyce David.
Hammerman denied an offer of conditional discharge at Brooklyn Criminal Court, standing strong with his not-guilty plea.
The CB6 head of more than 20 years was arrested on March 26, 2017 on charges of stalking and harassing his ex-girlfriend after allegedly downloading her Uber account onto his phone and using the information to follow her to a Bedford-Stuyvesant hotel.
Hammerman was arrested again on April 2 for allegedly violating an order of protection for following the same woman to a Park Slope bar and telling her that he had been following her for her own safety.
Hammerman took a leave from office on May 17. He represented Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Gowanus, Park Slope and Red Hook in his position.
His next court appearance is set for Aug. 7 and Hammer-man and David are ready to go to trial if they have to.
