Seven dead and 48 injured in London Bridge terror attack

Armed police near the scene of Saturday night’s terrorist incident on London Bridge where a van steered off the road and pummeled into pedestrians before three men fled from the van and attacked people with large knives in nearby bars and restaurants. Seven victims are confirmed dead and 48 people are being treated in hospitals across London, according to the Associated Press.
Armed officers fatally shot the attackers, who are not included in the seven dead.
The attack came almost two weeks after suicide bombers killed 22 people at a Manchester Ariana Grande concert. The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for both attacks.
New York City made a statement that there were no credible threats to New York and Mayor Bill de Blasio said Saturday on Twitter, “New York City stands with the people of London. Our prayers are with the victims, their families and the courageous first responders.”
