Rock rock Rockaway Beach.

Brooklynites, do you hear the Ramones’ punk-rock siren song summoning you to the Rockaways?

The new ferry from Sunset Park makes it easy to answer the call. It’s just a 45-minute ride from the dock behind the Brooklyn Army Terminal to the Rockaways stop, which is located at Beach 108th Street and Beach Channel Drive.

Indeed, with unseasonably warm temps this week, it would be tempting to play hooky from work and sail there right now. The fare for the new ferry costs as much as a subway or bus ride, $2.75 in each direction.

And when you arrive in the Rockaways, there are shuttle buses that will take you to various spots on the Queens peninsula. But you don’t need to take the bus to get to prime beachfront — it’s just a couple blocks away from the Rockaways’ ferry dock.

For those of you who haven’t visited the Atlantic Oceanside getaway recently, here are some photos.
