Saint Patrick’s Day is quickly approaching, which means the Bay Ridge Saint Patrick’s Day Parade is right around the corner.

The celebration takes place on Sunday, March 26 and features a full day of events, highlighted of course by the 24th installment of the annual parade.

The day will start at 9:30 a.m. with mass at St. Patrick’s R.C. Church (9511 Fourth Avenue). Following mass will be a brunch at Hunter’s Steakhouse (9404 Fourth Avenue) for parade committee members, marshals, honorees and their families as well as local leaders and elected officials.

New this year, according to organizers, is the first ever Shamrock Fun Run along the parade route, which will start at 12:30 p.m.

The parade itself kicks off at 1 p.m. from the corner of Marine and Third Avenue.

The parade grandstand will be located in front of the Greenhouse Café (7717 Third Avenue). This is also the location where raffle prizes will be called at the conclusion of the parade.

Raffle entries are $10 each; first prize is $3,000; second is $2,000; third is $1,000. Proceeds from the raffles benefit the parade’s education fund, which was introduced in 2015 to support local Catholic education. Merit-based awards are given through this program to Eighth Grade students attending one of the five local Catholic Academies (Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Holy Angels, St. Ephrem, St. Patrick and St. Anselm) with plans to attend a Catholic High School in the fall.

After the parade, attendees can head to one of the many official parade headquarters to keep the celebrations going.

Official headquarters include Kettle Black (8622 Third Avenue), The Pour House (7901 Third Avenue), O’Sullivan’s (8902 Third Avenue) and more.

Official headquarter The Wicked Monk (9510 Third Avenue) will feature a performance by The Canny Brothers Band and Shilelagh Law.
