Police search for Coney New Year’s Day shooter

Cops are searching for a shooter who assaulted a teen in Coney Island on New Year’s Day.

According to the NYPD, at about 1:55 a.m. on January 1, in front of 2960 West 29th Street, the unknown gunman fired a single round at the 18-year-old male victim, hitting him once in the left leg. Cops say the assailant then fled in a blue Ford Expedition with a broken passenger side mirror, while the victim was taken to Coney Island Hospital in stable condition.

Police describe the shooter as a black man, between 18 and 22 years old, approximately 5’10” and 160 pounds. When he was last seen, he was wearing dark clothing with a red head cover.
