L&M Tours celebrates New Year’s and 18th anniversary

One local business feted its customers at its annual New Year’s party, treating them to an extensive Chinese banquet just days after 2017 kicked off, and a couple of weeks before Lunar New Year celebrations are set to begin.

L & M Tours held the dinner party on Saturday, January 7 at the Golden Imperial Palace in Sunset Park in celebration of the New Year and the company’s 18th anniversary.

An estimated 200 people came from all different boroughs. Many of them were also locals and are supportive of the business. There were many still who were unable to come due to the bad weather conditions.

As per Chinese banquet tradition, they had a splendid, family style 10-course meal. “Our party was a success, and everyone enjoyed the food, live entertainment including a magic show and changing faces. Our DJ Joe sang a few songs, and danced with passengers,” said owner Qua Liang, who served as host.

There was also a raffle, with four gifts per table, each table having nine or 10 people. Each party-goer received a gift and $75 in coupons to use for day and overnight trips, and 10 free day trips were given out.

“My wife and I started our company in 1999. Now we have about 15 full and part time employees including office staff, bus drivers and sales. We are one of the main bus tour operators in New York City,” stated Liang.

L & M Tours is a tour and charter company and specialize in organizing bus tours in the United States and Canada. It has pick-up locations in all five boroughs, and also rents out buses.
