Teen robbed, placed in chokehold on 14th Avenue corner

An 18-year-old was injured after being put in a chokehold on the northeast corner of Poly Place and 14th Avenue on Thursday, September 1 at around 6 p.m.

According to reports, the victim got into a verbal dispute with two other people, one a 23-year-old old man, the other a 17-year-old man, regarding the sale of a sweater. After the verbal spat, one of the crooks grabbed the victim and held him in a chokehold, restricting the circulation of oxygen.

The perp then punched the victim in the face causing bruising and significant swelling. The two also stole $200 from the victim before fleeing the scene.

Cops later arrested the two perps on robbery charges.
