One of two perps arrested in connection with Sunset Park robbery

A 21-year-old Brooklyn man has been arrested in connection with a Sunset Park robbery that occurred earlier this month.

Adrian Rivera of nearby 40th Street was charged with one count of robbery after allegedly robbing a 32-year-old New York City sanitation worker at gunpoint on Thursday, August 11 at around 3 a.m..

Police charge that Rivera, along with one other suspect still at large, displayed a handgun and demanded the 32-year-old’s property while the victim was on the job on Ninth Avenue near 40th Street. The pair removed $10 cash from a wallet that one of them grabbed from the man’s pants pocket and threw the wallet back at the victim. The two suspects then fled westbound on 40th Street with the money.

Both suspects were described as Hispanic, ranging from 20 to 30 years of age. One of them was last seen wearing a white tank top and dark colored shorts while the other was wearing a black shirt and dark colored pants.
