Weekend travel advisory for the westbound Gowanus

According to the New York State Department of Transportation, motorists should be advised of the following traffic pattern changes on the westbound Gowanus Expressway (I-278) beginning on Friday, August 26 at midnight and continuing through Monday, August 29 at 5 a.m.:

There will be a closure of the right lane in the westbound direction, starting after Exit 24 (Prospect Expressway) and ending before Exit 22 (Belt Parkway/Verrazano-Narrows Bridge). The center and left lanes will remain open to traffic.
Exit 20 (6^th Avenue) will be closed. Motorists are advised to use Exit 23 (39^th Street).
