68th Precinct Police Beat: Woman assaulted with knife

KNIFE ATTACK

A 59-year-old woman was attacked near the northeast corner of 13th Avenue and 86th Street  on Saturday, July 30 at around 9:30 a.m. As the woman was walking, an unknown man came up to her, took out a knife, and swiped it towards her, resulting in a laceration to her arm, before fleeing the scene. No arrests have been made.

BIKE BURGLARS

Three burglars stole a motorcycle worth around $11,000 and a bike worth $1,000 from a home at Colonial Road and 72nd Street on Thursday, July 28, while the residents, a 27-year-old man and a 48-year-old man, were away. Cops say the trio, all men, entered the building through the side entrance into the garage, and broke and took apart the garage door. The crooks fled southbound on Colonial Road.

RANDOM ASSAULT

A 25-year-old woman was in her car near the northeast corner of Fifth Avenue and 85th Street on July 17 at around 6:50 a.m. when she was attacked by another woman. The perp, describe by the victim as a woman in her early 20s, approached her and struck the driver’s side mirror with a bat-like object. During the altercation, the attacker also struck the victim’s hand with a sharp object, resulting in cuts to her fingers. The victim was taken to NYU Lutheran Medical Center and received stitches. The perp fled in a black BMW Sedan.

DISAPPEARING ACT

The car belonging to a 42-year-old woman went missing on Tuesday, July 25 from its spot on the northwest corner of 68th street and Owls Head Court sometime between  Monday, July 25 at 5 p.m. and the following morning at 11 a.m. No broken glass was seen around the area, according to the police.
