BROOKLYN — Ribbon Cut for New Bank: Greenpoint Chamber of Commerce’s Secretary Martha Holstein (center) and the executives from the Brooklyn Chamber welcomed Investors Bank COO Domenick Cama to the neighborhood. The bank invited local business owners, government leaders and members of business organizations to the ribbon cutting ceremonies for its new Greenpoint branch at 896 Manhattan Ave.  Investors Bank now runs 15 retail banking centers in the Borough. Shown in the photo presenting and receiving the “Brooklyn Poster” are, from left: Investors Bank Community Development Officer Jennifer Smith, Vice President Business Lending Biagio Madaio, COO Domenick Cama, Brooklyn Chamber’s Christopher Lenard, Greenpoint Chamber’s Martha Holstein, Branch Manager Debbie Hootam, Senior Vice President N.Y. Regional Manager Ana Oliveira, and Brooklyn Chamber’s Executive Vice President Andrew Hoan. Investors Bank also formed an alliance of support with two nonprofits, the Greenpoint YMCA and the North Brooklyn Development Corp.

CHINA — Citizens Memorialize Earthquake Losses: A man with a flower prays for the victims of the 1976 Tangshan earthquake in front of a memorial wall at the Tangshan Earthquake Ruins Memorial Park in Tangshan. Local people paid a visit to the memorial park to mark the 40th anniversary of the devastating earthquake which killed more than 200,000 people.
