Hon. Steven Tiscione sworn in as new federal magistrate judge
The Hon. Steven L. Tiscione was sworn in as the newest magistrate judge of the Eastern District of New York (EDNY) during an investiture ceremony at the federal courthouse in Downtown Brooklyn on Wednesday.
“Today we celebrate Steve’s joining of a very distinguished group of magistrate judges,” said EDNY Chief Judge Carol Bagley Amon. “To be named to this position is a great honor. Some of us on the District Court bench may be here because of politics, or time or chance, but magistrate judges are picked in a completely merit-based process.”
Tiscione has spent the last 10 years working as an assistant U.S. attorney in the EDNY, where he held the position of chief of the International Narcotics and Money Laundering Section. Before that, he clerked for former EDNY Chief Judge Edward R. Korman and U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Reena Raggi.
