At Macon Branch Public Library on Lewis Avenue, a steady stream of Democrats was flowing in to vote on Tuesday afternoon.

In a completely unscientific poll, a Brooklyn Eagle reporter discovered a preference for Bernie Sanders. In the space of a few short minutes, two women and a man said the Vermont senator was their choice.

“He’s pulling the conversation to a more progressive side,” one woman said.

Another woman said, “He’s evolving.”

One male voter declared Hillary Clinton to be his choice for Democratic Presidential nominee.

“Let a woman take over,” he said.

Two other voters said they voted Democrat but wouldn’t reveal, even anonymously, whether they Feel the Bern or back the former Secretary of State.

In Bed-Stuy, at PS 3 aka Bedford Village School, Democrats turned out to vote. In a short span of a few minutes, three women said they had voted for Sanders.

“He’s of interest to the younger generation,” one of the voters said.

One woman said Hillary Clinton has her support.

“She’s excellent,” the voter said of Clinton. “She’s got an idea of what she’s doing.”

Primary Day began bright and early on Tuesday. Registered Democrats and Republicans exercise their rights as citizens and vote in their parties’ presidential primaries throughout New York State. Here are some early photos from around our borough, compiled by the staff writers of the Brooklyn Daily Eagle.
