Calling all entrepreneurs and business owners. The Staten Island Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will be hosting its first business workshop in Brooklyn this March.

Taking place at the Bensonhurst Center (1740 84th Street) on Tuesday, March 8, the Business Smart Toolkit Workshop will cover all of the basics of getting a business off the ground and the financial steps to take once that happens.

“It’s a great event for business owners or people with business ideas,” said SBDC Senior Business Advisor for South Brooklyn George Telmany, who will be presenting the workshop alongside SBDC Director Dean Balsamini. “[It] helps them towards success and saving money by not making as many mistakes as they go through the process.”

While SBDC has hosted business workshops in Staten Island, this will be the first for Brooklyn and Congressmember Dan Donovan will be in attendance.

The main topics of the night will focus on the basics – and key steps – to getting a business off the ground, what banks look for when lending money, various financing options, and the local resources available to assist you in starting and growing a small business.

The workshop will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. and seating is limited, so RSVP by calling 718-982-2560 or e-mailing [email protected].

The Home Reporter and Brooklyn Spectator are the media sponsor of the event.
