A 56-year-old woman died on Thursday afternoon after she was struck by a Buick near Bath and 20th Avenues.

According to police, the Queens resident, Alfiya Djuraeva, was crossing 20th Avenue at around 1 p.m. when the 1997 Buick, traveling southbound on 20th Avenue, made a left turn onto Bath Avenue, striking Djuraeva.

74-year-old Giovani Romano, also from Queens, was driving the Buick and remained at the scene.
Djuraeva—who suffered trauma to her head and torso—was taken to NYU Lutheran Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
