Brooklynites have choices for celebrating the Big Game

For locals that have gotten over the bitter, disappointing seasons of both New York football teams and are ready to watch the Big Game on Sunday, February 7 (and not obsess over halftime performances and new commercials), Brooklyn has great destinations where you could share your fandom for the sport with others.

Lonestar Bar and Grill, 8703 Fifth Avenue, has quickly become a prime destination for Bay Ridge residents that are serious about their sporting events. During the evening, the bar and grill will offer attendees all-you-can-drink beer, wine, well drinks and soda. Make sure you bring your appetite as the party will also include all-you-can-eat lobsters, fried shrimp, wings, steaks, chops, ribs, chicken and more. You get the full experience for just $60. For those looking for something a bit more inexpensive, The Pour House, 7901 Third Avenue, will be showing the game. Starting at 6:30 p.m., kick-off, attendees will be treated to complimentary food, various drink specials and a free HDTV giveaway. There is no cover charge. Call 718-491-6658.

If you’re looking for a traditional night at a bar without the bells and whistles, Three Jolly Pigeons, 6802 Third Avenue, has it. Though no specials are offered, the same upscale ambiance, large bar, and television sets will be a part of the night. Plus the food is top notch and the game will be aired. If you want the restaurant experience, Greenhouse Café, 7717 Third Avenue, serves gourmet meals all year round and it’s no different for the Big Game. However, it will host its own party that will feature a halftime buffet. For more information, call 718-833-8200.

The Wicked Monk, 9510 Third Avenue, known for its big turnout during football Sunday, will cater to regulars, but everyone is invited to join the fun. $13 pitchers of beer will be served as well as a bucket of 20 wings for just $18. The bar and grill also includes 20 large HDTV sets with full sounds on. The Monk will offer a full menu and there won’t be a cover charge. A halftime giveaway will also take place. Outside of Bay Ridge, Park Slope Ale House, 356 Sixth Avenue, will offer $1 off all wine, beer, and liquor. Bring your appetite, because they will also selling wings during the game for under a dollar, a deal difficult to beat. Aviator Sports and Events, 3159 Flatbush Avenue, known for attendees playing sports, is hosting its own Big Game party. Starting at 5 p.m., for $50 ($40 for members) pigskin fans will receive  unlimited drinks, hot and cold halftime buffet, and two free tickets for a chance to win a Samsung 58” LED 1080p Smart HDTV. If you want to be active while casually watching the game, Brooklyn Bowl, 61 Wythe Avenue, is the place to be. There is no cover charge and if you enjoy the commentary, the game will be broadcast with full sound. All ages are welcome until 6 p.m. Then, ages 21 and up only are admitted.
