Crazy Hat Day brings out creative side of students

Students, faculty and staff at Adelphi Academy of Brooklyn arrived at school on a recent Friday dressed in the craziest headgear they could find or create, to show off their school spirit on Crazy Hat Day, an annual tradition at the private school located at 8515 Ridge Boulevard.
Part of a series of “Spirit Day” events held throughout the year designed to promote school pride, camaraderie and self-expression, Crazy Hat Day allows students to showcase their creativity, school officials said.
“The overwhelming participation this year by students, faculty, staff and even some parents was remarkable, making 2015-2016 Crazy Hat Day one of our most successful ‘Spirit Day’ events to date,” said Adelphi’s Head of School Iphigenia Romanos. “The creativity and effort that went into finding and creating these elaborate hats brought the entire school together and provided a positive forum for students to express themselves while showing that we are all extremely proud to be a part of Adelphi’s internal community.”
In addition to Crazy Hat Day, Adelphi’s annual “Spirit Day” series includes Disney Day, which took place in October, and the upcoming Pajama Day, Mismatch Day and Brown & Gold Day (Adelphi’s school colors).
