68th Precinct Police Beat: Woman duped out of $3,800 by perp claiming to be from IRS
Between Friday, November 20 and Tuesday, November 24, the 68th Precinct received reports of three burglaries and one grand larceny. The 68th Precinct serves Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights and Fort Hamilton.

According to police, a 23-year-old Native American woman sent $3,800 to scammers after receiving a phone call from an unknown person stating that he was from the IRS on Monday, November 23 at approximately 12:25 p.m. The unknown perp claimed that she owed the money to the government and that if she didn’t pay immediately, the cops would arrest her. The victim claimed she was so afraid, she wired the money to the perp.
