Greetings, Brooklyn. Today is the 324th day of the year.

ON THIS DAY IN 1926, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle published an article titled “Cop’s Murderers Are Identified by Pal’s Confession.”

The article focused on the capture of three gunmen who shot two police officers on duty.

“Patrolman Daszkiewicz, though shot twice in the abdomen, is making a remarkable fight for life, and at the Long Island College Hospital this forenoon the announcement was made that he has a fighting chance for recovery,” the Eagle reported. “Brother policemen stood by to offer their blood if need be…”
