Richardson looking for mentors at Big Brothers Big Sisters event

In an effort to attract volunteers to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City program, Assemblymember Diana C. Richardson will host an information forum in partnership with the organization to provide details to residents considering becoming mentors to young people.

The information session will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Saint Gabriel’s Episcopal Church, 331 Hawthorne St. (Between Nostrand and New York avenues), starting at 7 p.m.

“Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City is one of the premier youth services providers in our city, and I am proud to stand with them in service to the youth of our district,” Richardson (D-Crown Heights-Lefferts Gardens) said.

The upcoming event has already generated a great deal of interest in her assembly district, Richardson said. “The future prosperity of our children is of paramount importance to me, and I am so pleased to see the reaction from so many of my friends and neighbors for this event,” she said.

Hector Batista, chief executive officer of Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City, said the organization has a great track record.
