A Catholic high school in Brooklyn is closed for the day after someone posted on Facebook that the school would get “shot up.”

Police say the threat against Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School was discovered Tuesday.

They say the anonymous post claimed Bishop Loughlin would get “shot up” on Wednesday. It warned, “Don’t go to school if you go there.” The post was quickly taken down.

A police spokesman says a suspect was taken into custody Wednesday and charges against him are pending.

School president Brother Dennis Cronin says school officials decided to “err on the side of safety” and cancel classes for Wednesday. He says school will be back in session Thursday.

Cronin says the suspect does not attend the school.
