Nation’s capital celebrates Brooklyn

U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer (at podium), a Brooklyn native, joined his colleagues in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday to celebrate Brooklyn with a night recognizing the borough.
“As a proud Brooklynite, born and raised in Flatbush, I was honored and excited to showcase for my colleagues all that our borough has to offer,” said Schumer. “Senators and Congress members from all over the map were treated to delicious Brooklyn delicacies like Junior’s Cheesecake and Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs, as well as Steve’s Authentic Key Lime Pie. ‘Brooklyn Night’ was a huge success — thanks to the hard work of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, Sen. Gillibrand and the entire Brooklyn congressional delegation.”
