Gala event celebrates grand opening of New Pavilion at the Haym Salomon Home

It was a memorable evening at the Haym Salomon Home for Nursing and Rehabilitation as elected officials, community leaders, hospital executives, directors, case managers and members of the media gathered to celebrate the unveiling of the brand new GrandView Pavilion Rehabilitation Center.

The expansive addition, located on the eighth floor of the well-known Brooklyn care facility in Bath Beach, is magnificent in both style and size. With breathtaking ocean views, residents will be able to rehabilitate in the most tranquil of settings as they enjoy the high standard of care that has earned Haym Salomon a reputation for excellence. Guests at the red carpet event, which was held on Sept. 8, enjoyed a buffet, an open bar and monogrammed giveaways.

The evening began with a cocktail reception, followed by an official ribbon cutting. Among the highlights of the evening were opening remarks by facility co-owner Olga Lipschitz, who spoke about her aspirations for Haym Salomon, and prominent lecturer Rabbi Jonathan Rietti, who, in a nod to the stunning vistas of the beautiful new pavilion, discussed the importance of living in the moment and enjoying the blessings that surround us daily.

The more than 350 people in attendance also enjoyed a full array of top notch entertainment, including a re-enactment of Haym Salomon during the pre-Revolutionary War era, a strolling magician, a 60-second novelist and a contest held on the facility’s all new social media pages featuring high-end electronic prizes. A Donald Trump entertainer had the crowd mesmerized, and as a self-proclaimed “master builder,” he gave the new facility his stamp of approval.

New York state Assemblymember Bill Colton praised Haym Salomon for its many years of service and noted that the new pavilion would further enhance the experience for residents at the facility.

“This is something that really indicates service and care of people,” said Colton. “The view that you have from this floor is one that is going to be tremendously helpful for people who have disabilities, people who have had some hard times, to now be able to recover and be restored.”

“We hope that this will be the beginning of a very successful rehab for those people that really need it and that it will bring a lot of good luck and joy to the community,” added Lipschitz. “Hopefully all those who cross our doors will go out healthy and happy.”
