A 50-year-old man has been arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident that occurred on Sunday, September 6, within the confines of the 66th Precinct, that left a 59-year-old woman dead.

According to cops, at around 12:25 a.m., Marlene Zotti was attempting to cross Ninth Avenue, mid-block, when she was struck by a white mini-van traveling northbound on Ninth Avenue.

After striking the woman, police said, the vehicle – allegedly driven by Marco Ortiz who reportedly turned himself in the day after the accident – made a right turn onto 42nd Street and continued eastbound, fleeing the scene.

Emergency Medical Services responded and transported the victim – a resident of 42nd Street – to Lutheran Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
