Ah, Labor Day — when Americans honor their belief in hard work by not working.

Hordes of Brooklynites spent the Monday holiday beating the heat at Brooklyn Bridge Park, hanging out in the shade drinking Lizzmonade or eating ice cream.

It was a picture-perfect day, though on the scorching side, at the East River shoreline oasis on the edge of Brooklyn Heights and DUMBO.
